The basically material of "DESERT WATER" was taken byJochen Kitzbihler on a trip through the dry red landscape of Australia's South-West Goldfields where you could feel and see the effects of the desertification.
We were hoping for water in flat lake of Goongarrie and became much more on this perfect evening. A warm wind and the flat sundown light outlined the ripples on the lake, the red earth colored the water in an amazing blood red.

*Goongarrie* is an abandoned town in *Western Australia* located in the Goldfield region of Western Australia located 84 k's north of Kalgoorlie.
The town site was originally known as '90 Mile' which was the distance of the settlement from Coolgardie.
A group of Gold miners discovered gold in the area in 1893 which was the first discovery since gold was struck in Coolgardie. Goongarrie was known as *Roaring Gimlet* initially, due to the sound of the cold south westerly winds roaring through the gimlet trees
