How will the vehicles of the future sound? At the moment, the autmobile industry is investing more emphatically in electric motors. Sooner or later, this propulsion technology will replace the conventional internal combustion engine. This will be accompanied by an enormous change in our acoustic environment. For electro motors are very low in sound and hardly perceptible in city traffic. Particularly our cities, but also the motorways will in future be very much quieter. Really? Not quite; Vehicles moving soundlessly in traffic are a danger to pedestrians. So they will have to be given a sound artistically. Johannes S. Sistermanns has taken over the task of making traffic music out of traffic noise – with a performance for cars and people.
